1. Before beginning the installation process, gather the following tools: flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, adjustable wrench, drill and drill bit.
2. Unplug the washing machine from power source before beginning installation.
3. Carefully remove old strike from the washer door. Make sure to take note of any screws or brackets that were used to secure it in place.
4. Using the Phillips screwdriver, unmount the old strike and remove it completely.
5. Insert the new Whirlpool W11316914 Strike into the washer door, lining up the holes in the strike with those on the door.
6. Using the drill and drill bit, mount the strike back into place by drilling the designated holes. Be sure to use a drill bit that is the same size or slightly larger than the holes in order to ensure the strike is secured tightly.
7. Reattach any screws and/or brackets that were used to secure the old strike.
8. Plug the washer back into the power source and test the new strike to make sure it works properly.
