DIY Instructions for Replacing the Whirlpool W11159068 GEARCASE (DW1)
Tools Needed:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Socket wrench set
- Pliers
- Towel
Step 1: Disconnect power and water to the dishwasher.
Step 2: Remove the lower access panel from the dishwasher by unscrewing the four Phillips head screws and then sliding the panel off.
Step 3: Remove the spray arm by unscrewing the nut that holds it in place.
Step 4: Remove the top access panel by unscrewing the four Phillips head screws located on the corners of the panel.
Step 5: Unscrew the three screws that hold the gearcase in place and remove the gearcase.
Step 6: Place the new gearcase in position and secure with the three screws.
Step 7: Reinstall the top access panel and spray arm.
Step 8: Reinstall the lower access panel and ensure it is secure with the four Phillips head screws.
Step 9: Restore power and water to the dishwasher and test for proper operation.
