W10780048 Whirlpool Washer Suspension Rod Kit
The Top Load Washer Suspension Rod Kit helps to dampen the movement of the washer tub during unbalanced cycles. This kit includes (4) suspension rods. If your washing machine is making a lot of noise or vibrating during the cleaning cycle, replacing this part may alleviate these issues. We strongly recommend that you hire a qualified technician to safely install this part. Replacing this part will require advanced mechanical training. Specialized tools, complex testing and appliance calibration may be required. Replacing the W10780048 Whirlpool Suspension Rod Kit
1. Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and turn off the water supply valves.
2. Place a towel or mat underneath the washer to help prevent scratches.
3. Tip the washer on its side, then remove the bottom front panel of the washer by removing the screws or clips that are holding the panel in place.
4. Locate the suspension rods and check them for any damage or wear.
5. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that are holding the suspension rods in place.
6. Remove the old suspension rods.
7. Replace the old suspension rods with the new W10780048 Whirlpool Suspension Rod Kit.
8. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws that are holding the new suspension rods in place.
9. Reattach the bottom front panel to the washer.
10. Place the washer back in its original upright position.
11. Reconnect the washer to the wall outlet and turn on the water supply valves.
12. Run a test cycle to ensure the new suspension rods are installed properly.
