The Washer Drain Pump removes waste water from the appliance during the cleaning cycle. It also houses a large filter which can be cleaned with affresh® washing machine clean ...er once a month. If water is leaking onto the floor from the pump, the body of the drain pump may be cracked and replacing it may alleviate this issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the washing machine before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. This Top Load Washer Drain Pump is located at the bottom of the appliance and removes water during the drain portion of the wash cycle.
