The Refrigerator Water Line Tubing carries water from the inlet water valve to the ice maker. If your refrigerator is leaking water, check the outlet tubing for cracks or holes, as well as the connection points to ensure they are fitted tightly. This water line measures 5' x 4". Installing this part will require basic tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. Step 1: Shut Off the Water Supply
Before starting any kind of repair work, it is important to shut off the water supply to ensure safety. Locate the shutoff valve on the wall near the appliance and turn it off.
Step 2: Disconnect the Water Tube
Using a pair of pliers, loosen the clamp that is attaching the existing WPW10664271 Whirlpool Water Tube to the inlet port of the appliance. Once the tube is loose, gently pull it away from the port until it is completely disconnected.
Step 3: Connect the New WPW10664271 Water Tube
Take the new WPW10664271 Whirlpool Water Tube and attach it to the inlet port. Make sure to align the connector on the tube with the port and press firmly to secure the connection.
Step 4: Secure the Water Tube
Using the same pliers you used earlier, tighten the clamp around the new WPW10664271 Water Tube and the port. This will prevent any leaking from occurring.
Step 5: Turn On the Water Supply
Once you have checked for leaks, turn the shutoff valve back on to restore the water supply to the appliance.
Step 6: Test the Connection
Finally, turn on the water supply to your appliance and test the newly replaced WPW10664271 Whirlpool Water Tube to make sure it is working properly.
