WPW10605057 Whirlpool Dishwasher Pump and Motor Assembly
This Dishwasher Pump and Motor Assembly pumps water through the spray arms during the dishwashing cycle. When removing the old motor, make sure to note where the various wires connect. If your appliance isn't cleaning your dishes as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply to your dishwasher before you begin. Replacing the WPW10605057 Whirlpool Dishwasher Pump and Motor Assembly
1. Unplug the dishwasher from the wall outlet and shut off the water supply.
2. Remove the lower dishrack and pull the dishwasher away from the wall.
3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the access panel in place.
4. Reach into the dishwasher and disconnect the wiring harness from the pump/motor assembly.
5. Remove the mounting screws securing the old pump/motor assembly.
6. Carefully lift the old pump/motor assembly out of the dishwasher.
7. Install the new pump/motor assembly.
8. Reconnect the wiring harness.
9. Replace the access panel and tighten the screws.
10. Push the dishwasher back up against the wall.
11. Reinstall the lower dishrack.
12. Plug the dishwasher back into the wall outlet and turn on the water supply.
13. Test the dishwasher to make sure the new pump/ motor assembly is working properly.
