WPW10381779 Whirlpool Grease Filter
This Hood Grease Filter traps grease from the exhaust air of your downdraft cooktop to prevent it from entering the blower and vent, potentially causing build-up and damage. If your current filter can no longer be cleaned and is not functioning properly, reaplcing this filter may alleviate the issue. This part measures 16" L x 3" W and is compatible with 36" and 42" KitchenAid® brand vent systems. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, but no disassembly or previous repair experience.

Replacing the WPW10381779 Whirlpool Grease Filter
1. Begin by unplugging the range from the electrical outlet. Make sure you turn off the circuit breaker if necessary.
2. Slide out the drawer at the bottom of the oven and remove the grease filter.
3. Take the new grease filter and align the slots on the side of the filter with the mounting screws on the bottom of the drawer.
4. Secure the filter with the mounting screws and tighten the screws to make sure the filter is secure.
5. Plug the range back into the electrical outlet or turn the breaker back on.
6. Slide the drawer back into the range and you are done.
