WPW10300024 Whirlpool Ice Maker
The French Door Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly receives water from the water inlet, holds the water in the ice mold until it freezes and then automatically ejects the ice and refills again until the ice storage bin is filled. This is a modular style assembly. If the coating of your appliance’s current ice maker is flaking off, or if components inside the assembly are no longer functioning, replacing the ice maker assembly may alleviate these issues. Installing the part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Note that this assembly does not include a bail arm; remove the bail arm from the existing ice maker to reuse with the new part.

DIY Instruction for Replacing the Whirlpool WPW10300024 Icemaker
1. Unplug your refrigerator from its power source. Carefully move the refrigerator away from the wall, if needed.
2. Locate the ice maker on the back wall of the refrigerator. Depending on your model, you may need to unscrew a panel to access the ice maker.
3. Using a screwdriver, remove the mounting screws that hold the ice maker in place.
4. Pull the ice maker out of the refrigerator and unplug the wiring harness.
5. Place the new ice maker in the same position, plugging in the wiring harness the same way.
6. Secure the new ice maker with the mounting screws you removed earlier.
7. Turn the icemaker on and turn on the refrigerator’s power source.
8. Wait 24 hours before you start using the new ice maker. The ice should start forming after that.
