How to Replace a Whirlpool WPW10289387 Valve
1. Unplug the power cord on your appliance and turn off the water supply.
2. Remove the lower access panel of the washing machine.
3. Find and remove the inlet valve assembly, which is the plastic pump housing connected to the fill hoses. This will likely be on the right side of the washer.
4. Disconnect the wires from the valve, then unscrew the mounting screws that hold the valve in place.
5. Take the old valve out of the washer and set it aside.
6. Place the new valve into the washer, making sure it is lined up correctly.
7. Replace the mounting screws and reconnect the wires.
8. Replace the inlet valve assembly and secure it with its mounting screws.
9. Reassemble the lower access panel.
10. Plug in the power cord and turn the water supply back on.
11. Test your washer to make sure the new valve is working correctly.
