This Top Load Washer Water Circulation Pump helps evenly circulate water inside the appliance during the cleaning cycle. If the motor in the current pump has failed, your clothing may not be properly cleansed. If the pump is damaged, you may also notice water leaking onto the floor. This kit includes (1) shield, (1) water circulation pump and (2) mounting screws. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. You may need assistance tilting the washer forward to access the bottom of the appliance. Note that you must reuse the clamp from the previous part or purchase a new one to complete the repair. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
