1. Begin by unplugging the dryer and moving it to a clean workspace.
2. Remove the back cover of the dryer. This can be done by taking out any screws that are used to hold the cover on.
3. Disconnect the wires connected to the motor, making sure to note the colors of the wires so they can be reconnected properly.
4. Unscrew the two nuts that hold the pulley in place.
5. Pull the pulley off of the motor shaft, being careful not to damage the shaft.
6. Place the new pulley onto the motor shaft.
7. Secure the pulley with the two nuts that were previously removed.
8. Reconnect the wires to the motor. Be sure to connect them correctly.
9. Reattach the back cover of the dryer.
10. Plug the dryer back in and test to ensure the pulley is operating properly. If it is, you have successfully completed replacing the Whirlpool WP8544739 PULLEY-MTR.
