This Dryer Motor Pulley rotates to turn the dryer’s drum belt, which spins the drum during the drying cycle. Replacing the WP8066184 Whirlpool Dryer Motor Pulley
Tools You Will Need:
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Standard flathead screwdriver
-Wrench or ratchet set
-Replacement WP8066184 pulley
Step 1: Disconnect the dryer from power source.
Step 2: Open the dryer’s cabinet. This can be done by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws located on the top of the unit.
Step 3: Unscrew the four screws attaching the front panel to the dryer.
Step 4: Carefully remove the front panel and set it aside.
Step 5: Using the wrench or ratchet set, loosen and remove the inner ring of the retaining ring that holds the motor pulley in place.
Step 6: Once the retaining ring has been removed, pull the old motor pulley off the shaft.
Step 7: Take the replacement pulley, place it onto the motor shaft, and secure it with the retaining ring.
Step 8: Reattach the front panel of the dryer and replace the two Phillips head screws.
Step 9: Reconnect the dryer to the power source.
