1. Unplug the power cord to the appliance. Make sure the appliance is completely powered off before attempting to replace any part.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and remove the two screws from the control knob's mounting plate on the front of the appliance.
3. Remove the control knob by pressing in on the tabs located under the knob. Once the knob is loose, straighten out the clip that is attached to the knob and gently pull off the knob.
4. Place the new WP74010205 Whirlpool Control Knob onto the shaft of the position selector. Make sure the arrows on the knob are facing the same direction as the arrows on the selector.
5. Reattach the mounting plate to the appliance with the Phillips head screws.
6. Plug the power cord back in and turn the appliance on to make sure the control knob is working properly.
