Step 1: Unplug the W10902589 BASE-PUMP from the power source before you begin any repairs.
Step 2: Using a bubbler, carefully unscrew and remove the drain hose from the back of the pump.
Step 3: Disconnect all electrical connections connected to the pump and remove any fasteners.
Step 4: Gently tilt the pump up and away from the sink, and remove the old pump.
Step 5: Unpack the new Whirlpool W10902589 BASE-PUMP, and align it with the holes in the sink.
Step 6: Secure the pump into place with the fasteners that are supplied.
Step 7: Reconnect any electrical connections, and make sure they are tightened.
Step 8: Carefully attach the drain hose to the back of the new pump.
Step 9: Make sure that all connections are secure and there are no leaks.
Step 10: Plug the W10902589 BASE-PUMP back in and test it for proper operation.
