DIY Guide to Replacing the Whirlpool W10886931 ICEMAKER
1. Unplug the refrigerator before you start.
2. Locate the ice maker. It is usually located either inside the freezer compartment or at the back of the refrigerator.
3. Unlock and remove the ice maker. You may need to use a screwdriver or similar tool to loosen its locking screws.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the ice maker.
5. Remove any other components that are still attached to the old ice maker, such as the fill tube.
6. Install the new ice maker. Make sure all the components are properly connected before installing it.
7. Reattach the wiring harness to the back of the new ice maker.
8. Secure the new ice maker into place with the locking screws.
9. Plug the refrigerator back in.
10. Run a quick test to make sure the ice maker is operational.
