W10876537 Whirlpool Dishwasher Drain Pump
The Dishwasher Drain Pump is located at the bottom of your dishwasher and is the mechanism that drains the water. If your water isn't draining, the motor of the drain pump may have shorted out, or the body of the drain pump could be cracked. Replacing the pump may alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the Dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the oven before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. 1. Start by unplugging the power cord from the dishwasher and turning off the water supply.
2. Remove the lower access panel from the dishwasher to access the drain pump. This may require removing fasteners or screws.
3. Unscrew the clamp that secures the drain hose to the drain pump.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness along the side of the drain pump.
5. Unscrew the mounting bracket that holds the pump in place, then slide it off the pump.
6. Remove the old W10876537 Whirlpool Dishwasher Drain Pump from the dishwasher.
7. Slide the new pump in to place and secure it with the mounting bracket and screws.
8. Reconnect the wiring harness and secure the drain hose to the pump.
9. Re-attach the access panel and make sure all screws are tight.
10. Plug in the power cord and turn the water supply back on.
11. Test the dishwasher to make sure it is draining properly and the new W10876537 Whirlpool Dishwasher Drain Pump is working correctly.
