W10861000 Whirlpool Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser
The Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser contains and releases the appliance’s detergent and rinse aid during the cleaning cycle. If the detergent assembly of your dishwasher does not dispense these items properly, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply to your dishwasher before you begin. Step 1: Unplug the power cord of your Whirlpool dishwasher to ensure that all electrical components are turned off.
Step 2: Locate and remove the screws that secure the detergent dispenser in place on the inside of the dishwasher. Carefully pull the dispenser out and set it on a flat surface.
Step 3: Inspect the wiring on the back of the detergent dispenser to ensure that all connections are securely connected and there is no visible damage.
Step 4: Remove the wiring carefully from the old dispenser. Then, attach the same wiring to the new W10861000 Whirlpool Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser.
Step 5: Line up the new detergent dispenser where the old one was mounted, and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
Step 6: Re-plug the power cord and turn on the power to the dishwasher to test out the new dispenser. It should be ready to go!
