Step 1: Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
Step 2: Locate the handle on the dishwasher.
Step 3: Remove the screws or fasteners that are securing the handle to the dishwasher.
Step 4: Carefully pull the handle away from the dishwasher to expose the Whirlpool W10838039 ENDCAP-HDL.
Step 5: Remove the ENDCAP-HDL by unscrewing the screws that are holding it in place.
Step 6: Replace the ENDCAP-HDL with a new one.
Step 7: Reattach the handle to the dishwasher and secure it with the screws or fasteners that were removed in Step 3.
Step 8: Plug the power cord back into the power outlet.
Step 9: Perform a test cycle to make sure the replacement was successful.
