W10536347 Whirlpool Drain Pump and Motor Assembly
This Top Load Washer Drain Pump is located at the bottom of the appliance and removes water during the drain portion of the wash cycle. If your washing machine isn't draining as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. This kit includes (1) drain pump, (1) water shield and (3) screws. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Replace the W10536347 Whirlpool Drain Pump and Motor Assembly
1. Unplug your washing machine from the wall or turn off the power at the circuit breaker panel before you begin working on your appliance.
2. Place a bucket beneath the washing machine, below the drain pump and motor assembly to catch the water that will be present.
3. Remove the access panel located at the bottom of the washing machine to access the drain pump and motor assembly.
4. Locate the drain hose clamps and disconnect them from the inlet and outlet ports of the drain pump and motor assembly.
5. Hold onto the drain pump and motor assembly and move it from side to side to break any debris buildup that may have occurred over time which can make removal a bit difficult.
6. Once the pump is loose, use a flathead screwdriver to pry up the mounting clips or screws that secure the pump and motor assembly to the washing machine.
7. Carefully remove the pump and motor assembly and set it aside.
8. Inspect the components of the new pump and motor assembly to ensure they are all included and in working order.
9. Install the new assembly by connecting the inlet and outlet hoses to their respective ports.
10. Secure the pump and motor assembly using the provided mounting clips or screws.
11. Replace the access panel and secure it with the provided screws.
12. Reconnect the power source to the washing machine and run a drain cycle to ensure the new pump is working properly.
13. Dispose of the old pump and motor assembly according to local regulations.
