8193504 Whirlpool Dishwasher Upper Spray Arm
This Dishwasher Upper Wash Arm spins and sprays to evenly distribute water during the washing cycle. You will need this kit if your spray arm is damaged or missing and requires replacement. This part includes (1) wash arm, (1) bushing and (1) retainer clip. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the appliance and no repair experience. Remember to unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. You must also turn off the water supply underneath the sink before installation. Step 1: Unplug the Dishwasher
Before you begin any work disconnect the dishwasher from the power source to avoid any potential electric shock.
Step 2: Empty the Dishwasher
Remove any dishes or flatware from the dishwasher and empty out soap detergent and rinse aid containers.
Step 3: Loosen the Existing Spray Arm
Unscrew the existing upper wash spray arm 8193504 from the top of the dishwasher by twisting it counter-clockwise.
Step 4: Remove the Existing Spray Arm
Gently pull the old spray arm away from the dishwasher. Be careful not to scratch the interior walls of the dishwasher.
Step 5: Install the New Spray Arm
Place the new upper washer spray arm 8193504 in the center of the dishwasher and twist clockwise until it is securely in place.
Step 6: Test the New Spray Arm
Run a cycle on the dishwasher with only dishes inside to make sure the new spray arm is working properly.
Step 7: Reassemble and Plug In the Dishwasher
Replace all the dishes, detergent, and rinse aid containers within the dishwasher and plug it back into the wall outlet.
