Step 1: Unplug the Washer
Unplug your Samsung washer power cord before beginning any repair to ensure you protect yourself from shock or electrocution.
Step 2: Locate and Remove the Drain Pump
Locate the drain pump for your Samsung washer model DC31-00054D. It is located at the bottom of the washer, at the back-left side when looking from the front. You’ll need to remove the kick plate by unscrewing its single retaining screw to gain access to it. Now that the kick plate has been removed, use a 7mm socket wrench to remove the four retaining screws that hold the drain pump in place. Pull the drain pump away from its mounting surface.
Step 3: Install the New Drain Pump
Secure the new drain pump in place with the four 7mm screws that were previously removed. Reinstall the kick plate and re-secure it with the single retaining screw.
Step 4: Replacing the Clamps
Confirm that the hose clamps are used with the new drain pump. Remove any old clamps from the hoses, and replace them with the new clamps. Make sure that the clamps fit securely on the hoses.
Step 5: Test the Washer
With all of the parts now in place, plug in the washer power cord and test the washer. Open the water valves, select the rinse cycle and press start. Observe to make sure the drain pump is draining the water from the washer. If it does not, you may need to call a service technician for further assistance.
