DIY: How to Replace the 4681EL1008A LG Dryer Blower Drive Motor
1. Before you begin, ensure the power to the dryer has been turned off.
2. Unplug the dryer from the outlet.
3. Remove the front panel of the dryer. It is secured with two screws at the top of the panel and two more screws at the bottom.
4. Remove the top panel of the dryer. This is secured with four screws in the dryer's back corners.
5. Once the top panel is removed, locate the blower drive motor. It will be located on the right side near the back of the dryer.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness from the motor. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the clip that holds it in place.
7. Remove the four screws holding the motor in place.
8. Carefully pull the motor out of its housing and set it aside.
9. Take your new 4681EL1008A LG Dryer Blower Drive Motor and insert it into the housing. Make sure the wiring harness lines up correctly with the connector.
10. Secure the motor in place with the four screws.
11. Reattach the wiring harness to the motor.
12. Reattach the top and front panels of the dryer using the screws removed earlier.
13. Plug the dryer back into the outlet, and turn the power back on.
14. Test the dryer to make sure the new motor is working properly.
