How to Replace the 3920ED4009B LG Dishwasher Seal Gasket

Replacing the seal gasket on an LG dishwasher can help ensure that the appliance operates correctly and prevents water leaks. The LG 3920ED4009B seal gasket is easy to replace and the following instructions will help you do the job.

Tools Needed

• New LG 3920ED4009B seal gasket
• Flashlight
• Putty knife or flat head screwdriver
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Container for screws

Step 1: Unplug the Dishwasher and Empty it
Before beginning any repairs, make sure the dishwasher is unplugged and empty of all dishes.

Step 2: Remove the Lower Panel and Detergent Dispenser Cover
First, locate and remove the three screws that hold the lower panel in place. You may need a flashlight to locate and access them. Once the screws are removed, lift and remove the panel.

Next, locate and remove the two screws that hold the detergent dispenser cover in place. You may need to use the flashlight to locate and access these screws.

Step 3: Locate and Remove the Old Seal Gasket
Once the panel and the dispenser cover has been removed, you should be able to see the old seal gasket. Usually, the old seal is located along the bottom edge of the door. Using a putty knife or flathead screwdriver, carefully pry up and remove the old seal gasket.

Step 4: Install the New Seal Gasket
Take the new seal gasket and position it around the edge of the door where the old one was located. Ensure that the gasket is fully seated and then use a putty knife or screwdriver to press the gasket firmly into place.

Step 5: Replace the Lower Panel and Detergent Dispenser Cover
Replace the lower panel, followed by the detergent dispenser cover. Make sure to replace the screws in the same spots as before.

Step 6: Test the New Seal Gasket
After replacing the seal gasket and the screws, plug the dishwasher back in and turn it on to make sure the new seal is working correctly.

You have now successfully replaced the LG 3920ED4009B seal gasket. If you run into any problems during the process, contact an authorized repair technician for assistance.

Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
