Tools Needed:
- Phillips #2 Screwdriver
- Pliers
Step 1: Disconnect power to the washer. Unplug the washer from the wall outlet or trip the circuit breaker servicing the washer.
Step 2: Locate the old shock absorber assembly. On the back of the washer, remove the four screws securing the outside panel of the washer. Then, remove the outside panel and locate the shock absorber assembly on the top left side.
Step 3: Remove the old shock absorber assembly. Begin by disconnecting the three wires connecting the shock absorber assembly to the washer. Next, remove the nut and bolt on the top of the shock absorber with pliers.
Step 4: Install the new shock absorber assembly. First, connect the three wires to the washer then screw the new shock absorber belt onto the motor pulley. Secure the bolt with the nut and tighten with the pliers.
Step 5: Reassemble the washer. Replace the outside panel of the washer and re-secure the four screws.
