Replacing the ICM280 ICM Controls Ignition Control Board

Tools Needed:
• Screwdriver
• Pliers
• Needle nose pliers
• Wire cutters
• Replacement ICM280 ignition control board

Step 1: Locate and shut off the power to the furnace. This is usually done by switching off the power breaker in your electrical panel.

Step 2: Take off the top panel of the furnace using a screwdriver.

Step 3: Locate the ICM280 ignition control board on the furnace. It should be mounted in the upper right corner of the unit.

Step 4: Disconnect the wires connected to the ICM280 ignition control board using needle nose pliers. If any of the wires are too short, you can use wire cutters to lengthen them. Once all the wires have been disconnected, remove the board.

Step 5: Mount the new ICM280 ignition control board onto the furnace in the same place as the old one.

Step 6: Reconnect the wires to the ICM280 ignition control board. Make sure that the connections are tight.

Step 7: Replace the top panel of the furnace.

Step 8: Turn the power back on and test the furnace.
