WR50X10071 GE Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat

1. Unplug your refrigerator from the wall and turn off the water supply if necessary.

2. Remove the rear panel of the freezer compartment by removing the screws inside the freezer.

3. Locate the defrost thermostat on the evaporator coil behind the rear panel.

4. Unscrew the mounting screws that secure the thermostat to the evaporator and carefully pull it out.

5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old thermostat and then attach it to the new one.

6. Secure the new thermostat with the same screws and reattach the rear panel.

7. Plug the refrigerator back into the wall and turn on the water supply if you have to turn it off.

8. Allow the refrigerator to cool down and check for proper temperature regulation.
