2. Locate the broken rod assembly. It is usually situated near the lower-right corner of the machine. Unscrew the four screws that attach it to the machine using the Phillips head screwdriver.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness to the rod assembly by carefully pulling it out of its slot.
4. Clean the area of any lint or debris that may have built up.
5. Take the new rod assembly and slide the wiring harness into its slot. Securely attach the rod assembly to the machine with the four screws.
6. Replace the access panel and secure it with the eight screws.
