Replacing the WE49X22606 GE Dryer Exhaust Cover Plate
Do-it-yourselfers who need to replace a broken or old exhaust cover plate on their GE dryer can do so with simple tools and a few steps. Follow this DIY guide to quickly and safely replace the WE49X22606 exhaust cover plate.
Tools Required:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Pliers
Step 1: Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet and remove the lint filter.
Step 2: Carefully remove any lint buildup on the exhaust cover plate and the interior of the dryer drum near the plate.
Step 3: On the rear of the dryer, locate the screws that secure the exhaust cover plate. Using the Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the screws and remove the plate.
Step 4: Insert the new WE49X22606 exhaust cover plate and use the Phillips head screwdriver to secure it in place.
Step 5: Replace the lint filter and plug the dryer back into the wall outlet.
