Step 1: Disconnect the Power
Before you start, be sure to disconnect power to the unit by turning off the power at the circuit breaker or unplugging from the outlet.
Step 2: Remove the Front Panel
To remove the front panel, unscrew the two screws that hold it in place. Carefully pull the front panel away from the unit and set aside.
Step 3: Detach Wiring Harness
Unscrew the two screws that hold the wiring harness to the unit. Carefully pull the harness away from the unit and set aside.
Step 4: Remove Existing Heater & Housing Assembly
Carefully unscrew the four screws that hold the heater & housing assembly in place. Pull the assembly out of the unit and set aside.
Step 5: Insert New Heater & Housing Assembly
Insert the new GE WE11X21156 heater & housing assembly into the unit. Make sure the components fit properly and secure them in place with the four mounting screws.
Step 6: Attach Wiring Harness
Attach the wiring harness to the unit using the two mounting screws. Make sure the connections are tight and secure.
Step 7: Reattach the Front Panel
Put the front panel back onto the unit and secure with the two mounting screws.
Step 8: Reconnect the Power
Reconnect power to the unit by turning on the power at the circuit breaker or plugging it back into the outlet.
