1. Gather the appropriate tools needed for the job. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver, pliers, a hammer, and a flathead screwdriver.
2. Unplug the dryer from the wall and turn off the gas valve if there is one.
3. Remove the screws holding the back panel in place on the dryer and lift them off.
4. Locate the GE WE03X31620 Pulley at the back of the drum and gently remove it by unscrewing the retaining nut and washer using pliers.
5. Take the replacement pulley and slide it over the shaft.
6. Put the washer and nut back over the pulley and tighten them with a pair of pliers.
7. Reinstall the back panel and replace the screws.
8. Plug the dryer back into the wall and turn the gas valve back on if applicable.
9. Test the dryer by running a cycle to ensure the pulley is working correctly.
