DIY Instructions for Replacing a GE WE01X30638 Control Knob
Tools Needed:
Small Phillips-head screwdriver
Step 1: Unplug the appliance or turn off the power to the unit at the circuit breaker.
Step 2: Locate the control knob. It is usually located just above the dials, setting buttons, or other control mechanisms. It will have a small metal shaft protruding from its back end.
Step 3: Use the small Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that are holding the knob in place.
Step 4: Carefully pull the knob off of the metal shaft.
Step 5: Take the GE WE01X30638 control knob and line up the two small slots on the back of the knob with the metal shaft.
Step 6: Press the replacement knob onto the metal shaft until it is firmly in place.
Step 7: Secure the new knob to the knob shaft with the Phillips-head screws that were removed in step 2.
Step 8: Plug the appliance back in or turn on the power at the circuit breaker. Test the new knob to ensure it is functioning properly.
