DIY Instructions for Replacing a Bosch 00686898 PANEL-FACIA
Tools Needed:
• Flathead screwdriver
• Philips head screwdriver
• Carpenter’s level and/or tape measure
• Pen or marker
• Utility knife
Instructions:
1. Disconnect power to the appliance.
2. Using your flathead screwdriver, remove any screws that are securing the panel facia to the appliance.
3. Carefully pull the panel away from the appliance, taking care not to damage the wiring or other components.
4. Using a pen or marker, make a few ‘reference lines’ on the outside of the panel to ensure that when you re-attach it, it will be in its original position.
5. With a utility knife, carefully cut away at the adhesive that secures the panel facia to the appliance.
6. Once all of the adhesive has been removed, lightly sand the area where the panel was attached. This will help the new panel facia adhere better.
7. Place the new panel facia into position and secure it with any screws you have removed previously.
8. Use a carpenter’s level and/or a tape measure to make sure the panel is straight and even.
9. Apply a bead of adhesive around the edges of the panel to make sure it is secured firmly in place.
10. Allow the adhesive to dry completely before reconnecting power to the appliance.
