Step 1: Turn off power to the dishwasher. Unplug the unit or flip the breaker off in your main electrical panel.
Step 2: Pull out the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Gently pull up on the silverware utensil basket and then disengage the two clips at the rear of the basket that secure it to the dishwasher.
Step 3: Place the old basket aside and take the new WPW10671904 Whirlpool Dishwasher Silverware Utensil Basket Support Clip. Insert the new clip into the hole at the rear of the basket. Secure the clip with a flathead screwdriver until it snaps into place.
Step 4: Re-insert the entire basket into the dishwasher. Make sure the clips on the basket are securely fastened.
Step 5: Plug the unit back into the wall outlet or flip the breaker back on in the main electrical panel. Test the dishwasher to make sure the new clip is functioning properly.
