DIY Instructions to Replace the Whirlpool WPW10594329 Control Board
Replacing a control board in your Whirlpool refrigerator can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. With the help of these easy-to-follow instructions, you can have your refrigerator up and running quickly and safely.
1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket or turn off the breaker.
2. Carefully pull out the fridge from the wall and locate the control board. This panel is usually located on the back wall of the refrigerator.
3. Take out the screws that are holding the control panel in place.
4. Gently lift up the control panel and remove the wiring harnesses attached to it. Make sure you remember where each wire connects.
5. Insert the new control board into the space where the old one was located. Secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
6. Plug the wiring harnesses back into the new control board ensuring they are connected properly.
7. Reattach the panel onto the back of the refrigerator.
8. Push the refrigerator back into place. Plug the power cord back into the outlet or turn the breaker back on.
9. Test the refrigerator by turning it on and setting the desired temperature.
