WPW10485962 Whirlpool Sensor
The Refrigerator Ice Maker Sensor gauges the water level in the water reservoir and signals the control when the reservoir needs filling. Once the water level reaches a certain point, the sensor will signal the controls to fill the reservoir. In order to access the part, you'll need to access the water pump area of the ice cube maker. This sensor measures approximately 3-3/4" L. Installing this part will require basic tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. Remember to unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.

Replacing the Whirlpool WPW10485962 SENSOR
1. Before beginning any repair, switch off the circuit breaker supplying power to your appliance. If you are uncertain of which circuit breaker powers the appliance, shut off all breakers in the service panel.
2. Open the top lid of your Whirlpool dryer and locate the temperature sensor.
3. Disconnect the wires from the sensor by pulling each wire straight out.
4. Remove the two screws that hold the sensor in place and carefully remove it from the dryer.
5. Place the new temperature sensor in place and reattach the two screws.
6. Connect the wires to the new sensor. Make sure they are securely connected.
7. Close the lid and turn the circuit breaker back on.
8. Run a test cycle to make sure the temperature sensor is working properly.
