The Dishwasher Upper Track supports the right side of the upper dishrack assembly and helps it easily move in and out of the dishwasher. Please note that this part is sold separately. If your appliance's upper rack isn't moving in and out of the appliance as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply to your dishwasher before you begin. DIY Guide for Replacing the Whirlpool Dishwasher Upper Dishrack Slide Track, Right Side
Tools Needed:
•Phillips head screwdriver
•Flat head screwdriver
•Socket wrench
Step 1: Unplug the dishwasher from its power source and shut off the water supply.
Step 2: Open the dishwasher door and locate the existing upper dishrack slide track, right side.
Step 3: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws securing the top rack to the dishwasher side walls.
Step 4: Pull the upper dishrack out slightly then remove it from the dishwasher.
Step 5: To replace the upper dishrack slide track, right side, you will need to disconnect the wiring to the motor. Start by using the socket wrench to remove the two screws that hold the motor mounting bracket in place. Gently pull the motor forward and disconnect the wiring from the motor terminals.
Step 6: Remove the old slide track by gently pulling it away from the wall of the dishwasher.
Step 7: Position the new slide track onto the wall of the dishwasher. Secure it with the provided screws.
Step 8: Reattach the wiring to the motor. Place the motor back into the motor mounting bracket and secure with the two screws.
Step 9: Slide the upper dishrack back in place. Secure the dishrack to the side walls with the previously removed screws.
Step 10: Replace the dishwasher door and plug it into the power source.
You have now successfully replaced the Whirlpool dishwasher upper dishrack slide track, right side.
