To access the part, after shutting off the water supply, remove the hot and cold fill hoses (usually labeled "H" and "C") at the back of the machine from the valve. Be sure to set a towel down to catch any water. You'll then remove the top panel of the washer. Please note: The valve should never be disassembled and cleaned, only replaced.
