DIY Steps to Replace Your 41-411 Robertshaw Hot Surface Furnace Ignitor, 4-1/2" Lead Wire

1. Turn off your furnace's power source. In order to replace the ignitor, you need to ensure the power source to the furnace is off. You can either flip the circuit breaker or remove the fuse that controls electricity to the furnace.

2. Disconnect any electrical wires connected to the existing ignitor. Typically, you will find a black wire and a white wire. Loosen the screws and pull off the wires from the existing ignitor.

3. Unscrew the screws that secure the existing ignitor to the furnace. Depending on how your furnace is set up, there may be clips holding the ignitor in place as well.

4. Take out the existing ignitor by carefully pulling it off the furnace.

5. Connect the new 41-411 Robertshaw Hot Surface Furnace Ignitor, 4-1/2" Lead Wire to the furnace. Place it in the slot and secure it with the screws.

6. Reattach the wire connections back to the new ignitor. Secure the screws tightly so there are no loose connections.

7. Turn the furnace's power source back on and verify the new ignitor is operational. You should see a spark at the end of the ignitor when the furnace turns on.
