Replacing the 20165703S Furnace Mini Hot Surface Ignitor
Instructions:
1. Turn off the power to the furnace. Unplug the furnace or switch off at the circuit breaker panel.
2. Look for the existing ignitor, typically a small black box located near the burners and inside the access panel.
3. Most ignitors are held in place with two screws. Loosen the screws and remove the ignitor.
4. Inspect the current wiring and take note of how it is connected to the ignitor. Some models use quick connects, other models may require soldering.
5. Install the new 20165703S Furnace Mini Hot Surface Ignitor and reconnect the wiring. Use solder or quick connects depending on the type of connections used with the old ignitor.
6. Replace the access panel.
7. Turn on the power to the furnace either by plugging it back in or turning the breaker back on.
8. Monitor the furnace while it cycles to make sure the ignitor is functioning correctly and the burners ignite properly.
9. If all is functioning correctly, you have successfully replaced the 20165703S Furnace Mini Hot Surface Ignitor.
