The Top Load Washer Washplate turns back and forth at the bottom of the spin basket to circulate the wash load through the water. The washplate is located in the bottom of you ...r washer's washer tub. To access the part, open the washer lid and remove the cap of the plate with a flat head screwdriver. Then use your ratchet to loosen the bolt inside the plate so you can remove the old part. If your new washplate didn't come with the the metal shield, you can transfer it over from your old washplate.
