Replacing the Samsung Refrigerator Water Filter: A DIY Guide
To ensure you get the highest quality of water from your Samsung refrigerator, it is important to regularly replace your refrigerator's water filter. Replacing the filter is a fairly easy process that can easily be done with a few simple steps at home without the need for assistance or an expert.
Step 1: Shut off the Water Supply
Before beginning the replacement process, you will first need to shut off the water supply to your refrigerator. To do this, locate the cold water shutoff valve behind your refrigerator that controls the water flow. Turn it counterclockwise to shut off the water flow.
Step 2: Remove the Old Water Filter
After shutting off the water supply, use a quarter-turn counterclockwise motion to turn and remove the old water filter from the back of the fridge. Gently pull the old filter out and discard it.
Step 3: Insert the New Water Filter
Once the old filter is removed, you can insert the new water filter in the same slot where the old one was placed. Turn the filter ¼ turn in a clockwise direction to properly secure it in place.
Step 4: Turn on the Water Supply
Finally, turn on the water source by turning the cold water shutoff valve clockwise. Allow the water to flow through the new filter for a few minutes before using it.
