Instructions for Replacing the 5889W2A012P LG Microwave Turntable Assembly
1. Unplug your microwave from the wall outlet. Make sure that you are standing on a non-slip surface before attempting to do any repairs or replacements.
2. Unscrew the four screws around the inside of the microwave, using a Phillips head screwdriver. These screws secure the control panel in place. After they are removed you can set the panel aside.
3. Locate the turntable motor at the base of the microwave. The motor is secured to the base with two screws. Unscrew them and then remove the motor and the turntable assembly.
4. Place the new turntable assembly into the microwave and reinstall the motor. Secure the motor with the two screws you previously removed.
5. Reinstall the control panel by reassembling the four screws around the inside of the microwave. Make sure the screws are securely tightened.
6. Plug the microwave back into the wall outlet and test the turntable assembly. It should rotate as it normally would. If it does not, make sure all the screws are securely tightened.
